Belknap is born in Damariscotta Maine. She is the daughter of David Belknap and Louise Belknap. She attended Lincoln Academy, Newcastle Maine. While a student at Middlebury College (Vermont), she was attracted to the act. It was at this point that the American Conservatory Theater awarded her an MFA in Fine Arts. After moving from the state of North Carolina to New York City, she began acting in movies and television shows. Camp has filed for divorce with the Pitch Perfect 32 costar in April of 2019 after more two years.
