Aunjanue E. Taylor Aunjanue E. Taylor, an American stage actress and producer, is well-known for her role in the feature film Ray Undercover Brother as well as appearing in The Mentalist. She has a Bachelor's degree in African-American Studies and an MFA from Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue was born in the United States and is an American actor, producer and director who has worked in both film and television. Her career began as an actor in theater and then went on to appear in many television series, mainstream and independent films. She became famous as Miranda Shaw, a character on ABC's Quantico. The BET's epic show The Book of Negroes she played the role of Ariel. Not only did she get praise from critics for her character, she was also awarded and nominations. In 1995, she made her debut as Ariel on stage on stage in The Tempest. On Broadway she's appeared as a character in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. Her film work is highlighted by her performances in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. On television, her part in ABC's police drama High Incident is well known.
